The SBK 22 gameplay trailer has been released, and it all looks a bit familiar…
It’s fair to say that Italian developer Milestone Srl has cornered the motorbike genre on modern-day consoles. Adding to their existing MotoGP, Ride, MXGP and Monster Energy Supercross franchises, they will release SBK 22 shortly, based on the World Superbike Championship.
To celebrate their upcoming game, they have released a new gameplay trailer:
The game will only cost £32.99 RRP when it releases on the 15th of September 2022. This seems cheap when compared to the cost of MotoGP games which usually come in at £49.99, but for context, the SBK championship is contested over significantly fewer rounds, meaning less tracks to race around.
Judging from the above trailer, it’s fair to say SBK 22 looks almost exactly the same as MotoGP, just with different bike models, name tags and a few UI changes and nothing else, hence the cheaper price.
This may be the case, but of course, for fans of the real-world SBK championship who have waited to race as or alongside SBK superstars such as Jonathon Rae, Scott Reading and Eugene Laverty, you will now get your chance after a ten-year hiatus for the series.
