- Xbox Wireless – Xbox Wireless provides you with a best-in-class wireless gaming audio experience on Xbox One (and compatible Windows 10** PCs) by letting you connect your headset directly to your Xbox One without an adapter, the same way your Xbox One wireless controller connects to the console. Xbox Wireless automatically configures the headset’s connection, so just turn-on the headset and start playing. **May require Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows (not included).
- Flip-up Mic – Turtle Beach’s renowned high-sensitivity mic takes on an all new form, picking-up your voice loud and clear to ensure your commands are always heard. Plus, it flips-up out of the way to Mute when not in use and blends into the headset’s design.
- Independent Game & Chat Volume Control – Find the perfect balance between game audio and chat audio.
- Windows Sonic Surround Sound* – Xbox One’s Windows Sonic for Headphones delivers immersive virtual surround sound to bring your games, movies and music to life. *Windows Sonic for Headphones provided by Microsoft for Xbox One (and compatible Windows 10 PCs). - Superhuman Hearing™ – With Turtle Beach’s exclusive Superhuman Hearing™ sound setting, you’ll have the competitive advantage by being able to hear all the subtle yet game-changing sounds, like enemy footsteps sneaking up on your six, other players reloading their weapon for an ambush, and vehicles off in the distance approaching with reinforcements. It’s vital intelligence for the split-second, life-or-death decisions that elevate great gamers above the rest. Hear Everything. Defeat Everyone.
- 15-Hour Battery Life – An onboard rechargeable battery delivers up to 15-hours of gaming per charge, so you’ll always be ready to play.

So you may or may not have read the specs and details above but the key points are the 15 hr battery life and complete wireless design, no dongles to connect, no wires to the controller, only a usb to charge the headset which i should say is very fast too compared to some I have used.
Having reviewed my fair share of headsets over the years I have got a bit fussy about certain points and wireless is a main priority for me.
My previous few favourites being the 420X 500X and 800X have all been wireless and sound quality may vary between them but they are all wireless however the 600 and 700 are setting a new standard in wireless headsets for Xbox.
You all know how to pair your controller to your console right? Well same method to connect the headset.
You can even have multiple headsets paired and switch one off and go straight to another without issue. Turn your xbox off and back on a few days later and it will automatically be detected without the need to pair again.
A big point I noticed during the review was the simplicity of the design too, those of you that had 500X will no doubt remember the beautiful ear cups well you get them on the 600’s so comfort is guaranteed.
The headset itself is a simple design and whilst I can’t tell you if you could break them in 6 months they certainly feel much stronger than some other designs out there, in part as mentioned by how simple they are and yet the premium feel with a lack of wires begs the question how are they so cheap?
Sound quality is where they are not the premium price point. No immersive surround sound but still a very good quality, playing COD i didn’t struggle much with where people were coming from but do acknowledge that also using the 800X earlier in the week there is a gulf in sound quality.
The Superhuman hearing is still good and if you’ve not used the high end premium headsets you’ll no doubt be very pleased with these.
Microphone is a rigid flip up mic that mutes when vertical and you head a brief audio sound to let you know you’ve muted yourself, simply flip down and your voice will be heard again. My only gripe with the mic is in certain positions it got in the way a bit but when you’re used to largely adjustable boom mics this will be a short period of adjustment for you.
SUMMARY
The 600 is the first in a no doubt new line of headsets to arrive in the presence of the Xbox One X boasting wireless affordable and comfortable with a high sound quality to boot.
For their price point I can see why so many people have already ordered a pair, loving the soft ear cups as well makes this a very desirable albeit entry level wireless headset.
Turtle Beach Atlas Three review – PC, Xbox, PS4, Switch, Mobile – Total Gaming Addicts
10th October 2018 at 1:27 pm[…] The Turtle Beach Atlas Three comes in at a mid range price point but for me delivers premium quality as the base of the headset is identical to the stealth 600X i reviewed last year (Stealth 600X review). […]
