Comfort, Performance and design. Just a couple of words I’d use to describe the Elite pro 2.
Now some have said that this is a step down from the original elite pro, and i will be the first to admit if you don’t own a smartphone then that may be true. But what’s the likelihood of that.
Yes the amp has now been minimised to just a light up volume dial.. With bluetooth thats the little gem in it all.
All of the control on the old T.A.C is now in the palm of your hand.
With unique modes such as Battle Royale mode that puts a nice big S button on your screen so that you can easily toggle superhuman hearing whenever you want.
Amongst that you now have streamer settings allowing you to control your voice and game stream output, no one can tell me thats not cool. And as a small little bonus that i have always enjoyed you can now listen to music from your phone whilst you annihilate people with your new quality headset.
Let’s start light with design, the headset is stunning, i must admit i was a little thrown that the Xbox version was white and PS was black as it’s usually the reverse, but hey it grew on me.
Now with a lightweight metal headband with adjustment on the ear cups and a cushioned inner band that forms to your head.
The ear cups have new sleek design with a small corner logo and detachable plates, no buttons no flip down mic nice and simple. On the other side they have huge magnetically attached (makes life so much easier) ear cups that have a special section that allows users with glasses to remain comfortable and on to of that is all made of soft leather and a silky smooth material to stop sweaty ears. The cups also have double adjustment a swivel on the band and tilt on the cup itself to make for the perfect fit.
Mic wise we have a new design, a clean plastic mic emblazoned with the TB logo on the outside and a small section of foam on the inside acting as a pop filter, and let me say the mic is crystal clear, give the mic around 2-5 mins on first startup to adjust to the sound levels and there after you have some of the best quality you can get on a gaming mic.
With that on to performance, as expected from a high end TB headset it performs phonominaly, the crisp quality is nothing short of amazing and it only gets better when you start playing with settings and tuning it to your needs, I must admit I was a little disappointed when I saw that footstep focus was not included in the modes for this headset as it was my favourite and most used setting.
And the same experience applies to PC, I haven’t mentioned yet but the headset on both platform connects by USB, you plug the super amp in by USB and then plug the headset into the super amp.
Connect up your phone and in settings simply toggle PC to Xbox and vice versa depending on what platform. Its that easy, and the final cherry on top of everything above is the customization, you can change the colour of the TB logo led in the middle of the super amp with 3 RGB sliders for ultimate customization and you can also change the setting of the led around the amp from stealth/off to volume meter showing you how high the volume is and lastly sound reactive, where it will react to the sound being put out through the amp.
SUMMARY
This is one piece of kit that won’t disappoint, it will perform with the best, look the best and be more comfortable than the rest.
Minus some small picky cons the best headset i have used.
