Fantastic looking mouse with amazing ergonomics.

The Kone AIMO Remastered is a Premium Performance gaming mouse from Roccat. It is one of the most ergonomically pleasing mice I have had the pleasure of using.
The thumb rest area is an extremely comfortable concave. There is a slight kick at the bottom nestling your thumb comfortably away from the surface it is sliding on. It also has three programmable buttons situated around the thumb rest area; two above and one below where your thumb would rest.
The Kone AIMO Remastered has a slight right tilt that could be missed, but its effect is significant. I have found that the slight change of position plays wonders for my wrist, not just in reducing strain but also aiding movement. The position affords you a fuller range of movement that feels less stiff and awkward.
On the flip side, the Kone AIMO Remastered is a big mouse. My partner, who has significantly smaller hands than me, had an experience that was the polar opposite to mine. She found the mouse too big to be comfortable, so it may be worth considering if you have smaller hands.
Design
The Kone AIMO Remastered is, in my opinion, second to none. The striking design and aggressive lines stand out, giving it a futuristic, premium appearance. This is amplified by the use of five-zone lighting. It is absolutely one of my favourite features of the Kone AIMO Remastered.
The zones run down each side of the mouse, with one in the scroll wheel. They are beautifully saturated and bright, allowing for some remarkable effects and customization. As an extra point of attention, the lighting zones are stunningly diffused. This produces soft and even coverage. They are also tinted so that when the lights are off you are left with a sleek gloss black finish. When the LEDs are turned off, you would never know they are there. Simply put, the Kone AIMO Remastered will look stylish regardless of your lighting preference.
Roccat have also applied what is being called a performance coating to the Kone AIMO Remastered. The coating boasts better grip, comfort and anti-dirt and wear, to keep the Kone AIMO Remastered in pristine condition. I have found that it does have a rubberized texture and grippy feel. I can’t comment on the wear, though, due to only having used the Kone AIMO Remastered for less than a month. it does, however, seem immune to fingerprints, which aligns with the anti-dirt claim. In any case, it is certainly more comfortable than the usual plain matte plastic found on most mice.
Functionality
Other than the three buttons on the thumb side, the Kone AIMO Remastered has the usual right and left buttons. They are fitted with Omron switches that make them satisfyingly clicky and responsive. The last button, as it were, is the scroll wheel. In addition to the standard notched scroll and switch activated by depressing the wheel, moving the wheel to the left or right operates additional switches.
Performance
The Kone AIMO Remastered features Roccat’s own Owl-eye sensor, providing up to 16000 dpi resolution. This can be adjusted in 50 dpi increments to suit everyone, no matter their preferences. The Owl-eye sensor is extremely responsive and accurate With a 1ms response time, it provides almost instant feedback to your actions.
To help with the superb sensor the Kone AIMO Remastered has five foot pads around the base. These allow the mouse to glide effortlessly on any surface. I have tested it on hard mats, fabric mats and a variety of different surfaces. In each case, the Kone AIMO Remastered was buttery smooth.
Lastly, as an expected standard, the Kone AIMO Remastered is fitted with a 1.8m braided cable. As with most high-end mice, the cable is well protected and perfectly suited for its purpose.
Summary
The Kone AIMO Remastered is an amazing piece of equipment. Stunning to look at and a pleasure to use, it is easy to recommend. The only point of consideration is that it is considerably larger than many other mice. As such, it may not be suited to someone with smaller hands.
