The already strong ACER Predator product line is about to get knocked up another notch.
With a selection of new premium gaming systems, monitors and peripherals – and a massaging gaming chair… I might never leave the house again.
Predator X25 Monitor
The 1080p 360Hz display of the X25 plants it firmly in the competitive eSports range. It’s not long ago that monitors that hit 240Hz were a rarity, yet now we have panels hitting a frankly incredible 360Hz. Combine this with the expected ACER image quality and this is one to watch out for.
Despite its gamer-centric focus, the X25 is styled more subtly than some of its competitors. It’s easy on the eye with the design, but it also has advanced adaptive tech to automatically adjust the display brightness and colour temperature depending on ambient lighting, as well as ProxiSense, that will offer notifications if you’ve been playing for a long time, to give your eyes a break if you want (no, us neither).
Responsive RGB back-lighting (think AmbiLight) casts a glow behind the screen that matches what is shown on the display, can be set to display static colours or dynamic effects, or pulses in time with your music. We’ve used similar systems on other monitors and it’s one of those things that, once you’ve used it, you wonder why it isn’t on every monitor.
Predator XB3 Series
The Predator XB3 is a series of four brand new monitors; the 31.5-inch Predator XB323QK NV, the 27-inch Predator XB273U GS and Predator XB273U GX, plus the 24.5-inch Predator XB253Q GZ.
Available with up to 240Hz refresh rates and up to 4k resolutions, the XB3 Series are all G-Sync compatible. HDR400 certification brings the benefits of WCG and high colour accuracy to your gaming, while up to 0.5ms G2G response reduces blur in fast moving images.
Fans of RGB will love this monitor line, with RGB LightSense allowing you to choose from a variety of different lighting effects, including color, speed, duration and brightness, which can be set to react to gameplay, music or video.
Predator Orion 9000 Desktop
The ACER Predator Orion 9000 (P09-920) is designed for hardcore and professional gamers. A refresh to the outgoing Orion 9000, the new version delivers extreme performance, advanced cooling and is easily upgraded.
Make no mistake, this is an absolute beast. Intel® Core™ i9 Extreme Edition processor, dual NVIDIA® Geforce® RTX® 2080 Ti graphics cards in SLI mode, up to three 3.5-inch HDDs and two 2.5-inch SDDs with a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C hot-swap dock for SSD/HDDs.
Airflow is provided by three 4.7-inch Predator FrostBlade™ fans, that provide up to 16% more airflow and 55% increased static pressure compared to prior generations of Predator fans, with additional cooling from a CPU liquid cooler fan.
Integrated Killer™ E3100G and Intel® WiFi 6 provides fast and reliable wireless connectivity. Overclocking can be activated at the touch of a button. An EMI-compliant edge-to-edge tempered glass side panel not only showcases the colourful ARGB lighting on the internal fans but also reduces interference that can be picked up by streaming mics or affect internal components. A tool-less design simplifies upgrades, and the chassis includes a convenient headset cradle, handles and wheels.
So. Much. Want!
Predator Orion 3000
The mid-sized tower of the Orion 3000, packs in a 10th gen Intel Core i7 and RTX 2070 Super. This compact and stylish rig will handle almost anything you throw at it, including streaming your gameplay without impacting performance.
Performance is boosted by a whopping 36Gb of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM, with space for up to a 1Tb PCIe NVMe SSD and two full-size 3.5″ SATA3 drives. For content creators, this PC has the power to record, edit, store and share your gaming prowess with ease.
For RGB lovers, fan-mounted RGB and dual light strips on the front of the case can be customised with special effects via PredatorSense software. We recommend choosing the optional tempered glass side panel to show off the killer components and fancy lighting inside.
Finish off the package with Killer E2600 gigabit performance and low-latency Intel Wi-Fi 6 functionality, and this should be on many gamer’s wish list.
Nitro 50 Desktop
An affordable desktop designed for casual or beginner gamers, the Nitro 50 still has impressive innards.
An up to 10th gen Intel Core i7 processors and RTX 2060 Super GPU is still a potent combination. Combine it with a board capable of handling 64Gb of 2666MHz DDR4 memory, a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD and two 3TB HDDs and you have a winning formula.
It may not have the RGB and glass side panel of the Orion series, but the red accents and sharp, angular lines give the chassis that distinctive ACER style. It may be marketed towards casual gamers, but this is still a seriously good build.
Predator Cestus 350 Mouse
The newest mouse to bear the Predator branding is a sleek wireless offering, featuring eight programmable buttons and a highly sensitive Pixart 3335 sensor (up to 16000DPI).
A polling rate of 1ms/1000Hz when connected wirelessly is up there with the best of them, and a 0.5ms polling rate when connected wired is available for those competitive gamers who want every advantage they can get.
Predator Gaming Chair x OSIM
Even the best chairs can leave you with aches and pains after a serious gaming session. What better than a relaxing massage while fully reclined, as you celebrate your win (or commiserate your loss)?
“Designed for professional gamers and eSports enthusiasts alike, the new Predator Gaming Chair x OSIM gives a relaxing massage that leverages OSIM V-Hand™ Massage Technology to emulate the agile hands of a professional masseuse on your neck and shoulders.
Together with other massage techniques such as knead, press, roll and tap that cover the entire back, this gaming chair has been specially designed to decrease tension and optimize physical comfort during or after gameplay.”
All of this functionality is controlled by an armrest mounted remote, so no searching for a controller dangling by the side of the chair anymore. They’ve also added a pair of speakers into the headrest so you can immerse yourself into whatever you are playing or watching.
