The Holy Trinity – AOC’s new AGON PRO lineup has something for everyone, showcasing three distinct types of display technology
Not content with releasing one new monitor, AOC is bringing three epic new 27″ displays to market. The first of these new displays utilise mini-LED and Nano-IPS, whilst the third brings high-refresh-rate 1440p gaming as its party piece. Whether you crave 4k resolution with HDMI 2.1 support for your console, incredible colour and HDR 1000 certification or 240 fps WQHD gameplay, one of these monitors is sure to tick all the right boxes.

The first of the trinity is geared towards those who want maximum resolution and dazzling colour. We’ve tested a few Nano-IPS displays and the colour vibrancy is nothing short of spectacular. This monitor is ideal for both PC gamers wanting a premium quality display for cinematic and adventure games, as well as new-gen console owners wanting to extract the full performance from their shiny new PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

The highlight of this display is surely the mini LED panel and its incredible colour gamut coverage and 576 dimming zones. 155% sRGB coverage is practically unheard of and should result in an incredibly vibrant image.
Mini LED is bringing the fight to OLED when it comes to stunning contrast and inky blacks, with the full array local dimming allowing LCD displays to rival the best OLED has to offer. With DisplayHDR 1000 certification, this could be the ideal monitor if HDR is your primary focus, while still providing snappy performance and an outstanding 170Hz refresh at 1440p.
AOC AGON PRO AG274QG – 1440p/240Hz, HDR600 – Ideal for competitive gamers

1440p is rapidly replacing 1080p when it comes to the resolution of choice for competitive gaming. As we know, frames win games – the AGON PRO AG274QG can hit incredible 240Hz refresh rates, but you don’t have to compromise on picture quality. This monitor has excellent gamut coverage and even has DisplayHDR 600 certification.
Decisions, decisions…
Each of these monitors is tremendous in its own right, but I love that AOC has focused each variation of the AG274 on a particular feature – whether it’s the stunning HDR of the AG27QXM, the crisp 4k resolution and console-friendly specs of the AG274UXP or the esports focused AG274QG, there’s something for everyone here.
I’ll have to wait until I’ve reviewed these displays to say for certain which I’d choose, but I’d be happy with any one of them, to be honest. I’m leaning towards the 4K, but I do love HDR – ah, what the heck, I’ll have all three!
