Ubisoft has announced that Assassins Creed Valhalla will run at 4k 60fps on the Xbox Series X, and the release date has been moved forward to coincide with the release date of the new consoles.
Contrary to earlier statements, Ubisoft has now confirmed that the new Assassins Creed will run at 60fps. If you’re wondering why this is significant, it’s because Ubi received quite a lot of backlash when they originally stated that Assassins Creed Valhalla would only run at 30fps on the next-gen consoles.
The PC version is obviously dependant on your own personal setup, and we have yet to hear about the PS5 version, though it seems likely that it should be able to run at 4k60, too.
With the release date of the new Xbox systems finally confirmed, Ubisoft have brought forward the release date, bringing yet another AAA title to console for launch.
“Become Eivor, a Viking raider raised to be a fearless warrior, and lead your clan from icy desolation in Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Find your settlement and conquer this hostile land by any means to earn a place in Valhalla.
England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?”
There may not be many new Xbox exclusives, but between new titles coming to the system and enhanced versions of existing games making their way over, it’s safe to say you aren’t going to be short of games to play.
With an RRP of just £49.99 for the standard edition, and inclusion in the Xbox Smart Delivery program, Ubisoft is likely to shift a lot of copies this holiday season.
Assassins Creed Valhalla launches on the 10th November 2020 for Xbox One and Series S|X, PS4|5, and Windows PC.
