I’m sure many people are reluctant to preorder tech before reading reviews, but MSI’s new range is shaping up to be hugely impressive. What makes them different? In a word – Power. Many of the new MSI laptops are optimised to run at the maximum TGP of their GPUs whilst simultaneously extracting the full power from the CPU.
Unlike desktop GPUs which, overclocking aside, have similar performance, the mobile variants can vary vastly in performance from laptop to laptop depending on the power allocated, thermal performance and more. MSI’s new laptops have (up to) RTX 3080Ti GPUs which can run at up to 175W, which should extract the maximum possible performance from these already potent GPUs. Pair this with Intel’s 12th Gen CPUs and we should have some incredible performance on our hands.
