Forget Fallen Order 2 and the new Star Wars IPs, this is my most anticipated Star Wars game ever!
LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga is shaping up to be arguably the best game set in the Star Wars universe.
In this behind the scenes video, the developers talk through their process in creating the biggest world ever put into a Lego game, and the work that went into implementing weathering effects, differentiating sky colours, and bringing attention to every little detail unseen in previous LEGO video games.
I mean – wow. It looks gorgeous, right? Visual fidelity has seen a major step up compared to older games, and running at 4k60 on new-gen consoles and capable PCs is going to be a sight to behold. I’m most impressed at how detail-rich the level design is, and how full of life everything seems.
LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga is obviously going to be hugely appealing to Star Wars fans in general, but if you’ve played any Lego games before you’ll appreciate how a Lego game of this scope is the ideal family game. Bringing the trademark Lego game humour, and spanning all nine movies in the Skywalker Saga (along with DLC characters from most of the major spin-off movies, shows and cartoons), this is the most ambitious game they have ever made and should provide countless hours of family-friendly fun.
Players will have the freedom to explore hub worlds from familiar locations such as Naboo, Endor, Tatooine, and the Cloud City of Bespin, to unlock new vehicles and playable characters, including Mama the Hutt, Yaddle and Babu Frik. Players may also find collecting Kyber Bricks on the varied planets as a motivator for deviating from the game’s main path. Kyber bricks are used as currency to enhance characters, ranging from upgrading Force abilities to increasing blaster firepower.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to release on April 5th, 2022 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch™ and PC.
Consumers that digitally pre-order the game will receive early access to the Trooper Character Pack on launch day. The pack will be available a month after launch for those that purchase the Character Collection (Season Pass which will include all seven character packs) or can be purchased separately.
Purchasing the digital version of the game will also include Classic Obi-Wan Kenobi™ as a playable character and will be unavailable for standalone purchase. The physical version of the Deluxe Edition will include an exclusive LEGO Star Wars minifigure, Luke Skywalker™ with Blue Milk.
