Back in 2019, we were provided with the amazing Karnox Legend to review and enjoy, and we loved it so much we just had to see what else they had up their sleeves! A newcomer to the UK back in 2019, they have firmly established their grasp in the UK gaming chair contest for dominance throughout 2020.
Whilst looking through their available range I immediately fell in love with the look of the Commander chair. Its sleek design, diamond detailed backing and white outline took my fancy right away. Although, it seemed to be missing one key component from the Karnox range, the iconic triangular cut-outs in the back.
From ordering online, to having the chair complete in my room, the entire process was seamless. The Karnox website makes ordering your next gaming chair super easy. It is user friendly and quite easy to navigate, which was great for me as a first-time buyer of a gaming chair. Each chair has a dedicated page detailing all the specs and even providing an animated 360 view. Ordering is as simple as adding to cart and checking out, and with free shipping to all mainland UK addresses it was so easy for a new user to buy a new gaming chair.
Delivery was quick and easy and arrived earlier than I expected, which was a bonus! As soon as my doorbell rang, I ran straight to the door, laughed with the postman about being a girl gamer and watched as he wheeled in my recent purchase. The box was chunky! It took two people to get it upstairs to my office with a lot of huffing and puffing on the way.
Set up was way easier than I expected it to be, almost to the point where I was worried I’d forgotten something. The chair came in 3 main parts, the seat, the back, and the castors, alongside the gas lift and a couple of screws and wheels. The set-up instructions were clear to follow and did suggest that I had a friend to help me set it up, but I’m stubborn and so I set up the chair alone.
Once I had the chair all set up, I sat down and immediately felt supported and comfortable. The bent steel tube frame supported my weight comfortably and at no point did the chair feel unstable. It’s great to feel like I can sit in this chair for hours and not feel like I’m sinking. With its foam padding, it conforms to your preferred seating position but also reminds you to sit properly to protect your back. The soft-touch PU leather is super smooth and comfy to sit on, and, unlike the other leather, this material doesn’t stick to your skin! Perfect for those hot summer gaming nights in shorts and a t-shirt.

This chair has so many buttons and different functions that it could work part-time as a James Bond gadget! The best function by far is the 155-degree tilting of the backrest, which means that during a long gaming session you can lean back and have a cheeky snooze halfway through! The armrests adjust in pretty much every direction you can think of, which Karnox has cleverly labelled as “4D armrests”. When raising or lowering the chair it moves effortlessly thanks to its Class 4 heavy-duty gas lift. This also allows for full support for the medium to heavy player for long gaming sessions. The castors are made of a strong aluminium alloy base with smooth rubber wheels which allow for easy movement when adjusting the chair. Everything about this chair screams effortless comfort.
Summary
All in all, this chair is firm enough to hold me for extended gaming sessions but comfortable enough to sit in it for hours on end with no issue. I’ve never had a gaming chair with a headrest before so this is something that I need to get used to, luckily the Commander comes with a neck support pillow to help me get used to it all. If you are looking for a new gaming chair that is supportive and comfortable, I would highly recommend this chair. It won’t break the bank and with its endless adjustability, it will last you years of long-night gaming sessions.
