Karnox Legend Gaming Chair Review
We recently attended EGX 2019 and had the pleasure of checking out the current range of Karnox gaming seats. Karnox, whilst long established in the US, is a relative newcomer to the UK gaming chair scene, but with their current range, they are really making their mark.
Of all of their range on display (which were all extremely comfortable), one really stood out for us: The Karnox Legend gaming chair. With its wide seat and tall back, the Legend is exceptionally well suited for prolonged gaming sessions. We secured one to review and were not disappointed.
Visually, the Karnox Legend casts a striking and imposing figure. The triangular cutouts around the shoulder area give the Legend a menacing appearance, and with its sharp, angular lines, it’s clear the Legend means business. The contrast stitching around the diamond cut padding oozes style, and the two-tone colour scheme is an attractive addition.
As we all know, it’s no good being all style with no substance. Fortunately, you’ll be glad to know the Karnox Legend is built to perform, and last. With a solid cast-base and a bent steel tube frame used for its construction, the Karnox Legend feels stable and strong. A class 4 heavy-duty gas lift controls your height adjustments, whilst it’s possible to recline the chair to 155 degrees for maximum comfort (or a sneaky snooze) during lengthy gaming sessions. (If you are having trouble visualising what a 155-degree recline looks like, let’s just say if you are at that angle, you won’t have any problem taking a nap.)
Armrests enjoy full freedom of movement, dubbed 4D by Karnox. In practice, you can adjust the height, swivel, forward to back angle and tilt to easily suit your body type. The wide seat base, bucket seat style side supports and range of seating position adjustments make the Legend an immensely comfortable chair.
Packed with high-density foam, the Karnox Legend doesn’t just rely on being in the right position to provide comfort. With a firm yet relaxing dense foam padding, accompanied by a padded headrest, we found the Legend to be exceptionally comfortable both for prolonged gaming sessions and many hours spent in the office. Rest assured the Karnox Legend provides a class-leading level of comfort and style.
Onto the looks, the Legend features the aforementioned cut-away sections around the shoulders, and the tasteful diamond-cut stitching, but also has beautiful colour-accented panels around the chair, and also colour accented panels around the base. With soft-touch PU leather construction, it’s a wonderful place to sit.
The Karnox Legend arrives flat-packed for ease of transport but the instructions are straightforward. It’s very easy to assemble, and you will be up and running in no time. In practical use, the non-slip feet on the Karnox Legend will stay stable during your most over-excited gaming moments, yet remain easy to move while you slide yourself around, or adjust your position in preparation for getting fully reclined for a movie-watching session.
Correct posture is important for long gaming sessions, and I do appreciate the addition of adjustable padding around the lumbar region. It is by no means uncomfortable without it, but the removable lumbar support padding works wonders and is a welcome inclusion.
We found almost no fault with the Legend, however, if we had to pick anything that would elevate the Legend to the next level, it could do with the inclusion of a mechanically adjustable lumbar support. As mentioned, however, this isn’t really a complaint, just a feature we would like to see. We really had to clutch at straws to find anything even resembling a negative, which is a testament to the quality of the Karnox Legend.
Summary
If you are in the market for a new or upgraded gaming chair, which packs the style and comfort you need for extended gaming sessions both on camera or off, you will be hard-pressed to find a better alternative to the Karnox Legend. Sporting an aggressive and stylish design, and a good range of movement, this is a superb addition to any gamers setup.
