G840 XL Gaming Mousepad
PERFORMANCE-TUNED SURFACE
Performance-tuned surface provides peak accuracy and consistency for gaming mice by providing optimal sensor imagery that translates mouse movement into precise cursor movement even at high speeds.

MODERATE SURFACE FRICTION
Delivers the feedback required to “feel” mouse movement. Accurately target using muscle memory and optimize both high-speed flicks and low-speed control.

STABLE RUBBER BASE
Low DPI gamers make sweeping, rapid hand movements. The rubber base keeps the entire surface in place preventing the cloth from bunching up to maintain smooth mouse movement across the entire desktop. 3mm thickness at such an expansive size provides the stability you need for both mouse and keyboard.

ROLL AND GO
G840 is durable and flexible enough to roll up and place back into the included transport tube. Take comfort and control for both your mouse and keyboard wherever you go.

The G840 at first to me seemed as easy a thing to write about as any. It’s a massive mouse pad.
But there are some considerable differences the G840 has compared to the vast majority of large and small mouse pads that I have used.
The G840 is a large mousepad measuring 900mm wide, 400mm in height and a mere 3mm in thickness making it more than large enough to accommodate a full size keyboard and a mouse with ample room for movement.
The G840 is entirely black on the top with a satin black G logo in the bottom right corner. Below the surface and around the edges, the G840 is the signature Logitech blue as is the entire base.
The surface itself is where you will find the greatest difference. Most mousepads I have used have always opted for an extremely silky smooth surface, whereas the G840 has been designed with what Logitech calls a performance-tuned surface. It is slightly coarser and provides a satisfying amount of feedback that, having compared it to my partners ROG PINK mouse pad, seems strange. I soon came to appreciate the subtle resistance of the G840, making every movement I made feel more purposeful and accurate.
Bottom of the pad is lined with a sturdy rubbery material that gives the G840 most of its sickness. It has kept the G840 in place and without movement for the entirety of my use and seems to be doing exactly what it should with no issue.
The edge of the mat is where my only complaint resides. A fair amount of premium mousepads come with a soft embroidered edge and the G840 does not. This gives it a much cleaner and modern look but leaves a harsh edge that over time I have found rubs harshly on my wrist and arms. This has subsided some amount as the edges have started to fray and soften ever so slightly in the areas I rest on most frequently, but it is still not the most comfortable of experiences.
As a bonus, the tube the G840 comes in is extremely sturdy and is intended by Logitech to be used to transport the G840 if needed, No huge matter but an extremely handy accessory to keep around.
Summary
The G840 has a satisfying surface resistance that I have only grown to love. Its size accommodates everything on my desk with ease and its rubbery base has ensured it stays fixed in position perfectly during use.
I just wish for some kind of softening on the edges to increase the comfort.
