PlayStation News Roundup: The weather may be getting colder, but the activity from Team Blue is hotting up!
With so much news coming out, we have made a quick summary of some of the latest news items regarding PlayStation and its games that you may have missed.
Returnal Developers Cave In To Fan Requests.
The Returnal Update 2.0, complete with a shiny new trailer, may have recently slipped past many gamers eyes and ears, but the biggest takeaway from the update is not the photo mode (as gorgeous as it looks). No, it’s the additional nugget of information – the Suspend Cycle feature.
Why is this such a big deal? For many in the PlayStation community, one of the biggest reasons to not buy the game when it originally came out was that you couldn’t save a playthrough midway. For a roguelike game, this is a key feature and something you have to deal with. However, to finish the game and make a complete uninterrupted can take around 3 to 4 hours. With no options to pause should life get in the way, this was a turn off for a vast many would-be players (myself included).
Now that Returnal has a suspend feature, however, the situation changes in an instant, and the game should become more palatable to gamers who also have busy lives. Don’t be surprised if you see a Returnal to the top-ten sales charts once this news spreads amongst the community.
Kena – Bridge of Spirits – Hard Copy Release Date.
For those who love collecting physical editions of games, you may be pleased to hear that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will have a Deluxe Edition of the game available. This will be released on the 19th November, for both the PS4 and PS5.
PlayStation Ramps Up Their Gaming Library
In the last month, we have had not one, but two State of Play presentations from PlayStation:
With so many games to pick through in two excellent broadcasts, it’s very hard not to be excited about the upcoming games coming to a PlayStation console near you. For me, the highlight of the most recent show must be the indie developed game, “Little Devil Inside”.
Little Devil Inside got to showcase what appears to be a gorgeous sandbox world that looks full of exciting and humorous adventures to enjoy. Through many different locations, and with the mix of cinematics and gameplay visuals shown, we can see that this Victorian SteamPunk era game is shaping up nicely. Little Devil Inside has been given a preliminary 2022 release date.
What you may not have seen during the State of Play presentation, however, is the pre-alpha trailer, from developer NeoStream. This trailer highlights more of the world and humour you will get to experience in the game.
Even though the world is opening up again, we recommend staying inside for February 2022
If you want to book a month off work to stay inside and play games, February 2022 will be the month to do it. There are ridiculous amounts of big hitting games due to release this month, especially if you are a PlayStation owner.
Dying Light 2 on the 4th February 2022.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires on the 15th February 2022
Horizon Forbidden West on the 18th February 2022.
Sifu on the 22nd February 2022.
Atelier Sophie 2 on the 25th February 2022.
Saints Row on the 25th February 2022.
Elden Ring on the 25th February 2022.
And then, just when you thought your wallet would get a break,
Gran Turismo 7 on the 4th of March 2022!
If ever there was a month the world should have a global lock down, February 2022 would be a good choice. We will have more detailed articles upcoming on Gran Turismo 7, and Atelier Sophie 2 soon, and for all other news, keep it here at Total Gaming Addicts.
