Hot on the heels of the official reveal of the Series X, we now have the first game trailer for the new system.
Wasting no time, one of Microsofts newest acquisitions is wasting no time proving their worth to the Xbox brand. With Bleeding Edge already in Alpha phase for Xbox insiders, with the beta coming soon for those who’ve pre-ordered, or via Game Pass, it was surprising (but a good surprise) to see Ninja Theory are already working hard on the sequel to the excellent Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
The first game had excellent graphics for such a modestly priced and resourced title, but Hellblade 2 has raised that bar significantly if the trailer is anything to go by.
Without giving any spoilers, it’s safe to say that the original didn’t really set itself up for a sequel, however, given how well received it was, it makes sense that it has potential, and if anyone can pull it off, it’s Ninja Theory.
Expect more of the genuinely unsettling exploration of the struggles of mental health issues, along with the trademark visceral combat Ninja Theory is famed for.
If these are the titles Microsoft is bringing with their first-party studios, it could be a real equaliser in the battle with Sony for system-selling exclusives.
