Enter the desert in search of the key to save humanity – the Great Power. One year, the king declared that he would send a large-scale investigation team to the Desert of Beginnings.
Chosen to captain this mission, Quinn Bravesford leads her soldiers into battle against a swath of enemy nations for the sake of her kingdom. Quinn gazes at the ancient alchemic device, the Lunagear, within her hand. According to the legends of yore, once the Lunagear is equipped with the four Orbs, it will unlock the Great Power that will save humanity. Only one Orb resides in Quinn’s Lunagear. Collecting the four Orbs for the Lunagear, however, is a mere legend.
With the threat of dangerous creatures and Machine Dolls wandering the desert, one of the enemy nations, the Principality of Neuhaven, has dispatched their military in search of the Great Power. Now, Quinn and her band of allies must fight against the Principality of Neuhaven in hopes to find the Great Power and save humanity. Quinn steels herself, but even so, she can’t help but doubt the existence of the Great Power…

If ever there was a developer knocking it out of the park recently, Compile Heart would be at the top of the list. This company, along with the publisher Idea Factory, recently went outside their normal comfort zone to give us the new and wonderful IP’s of Dragon Star Varnir and Death End Request.
On the 30th January 2020, yet again we will see something new, with a gorgeous looking new title called “Arc of Alchemist” and we at Total Gaming Addicts can’t wait to find out what the Neptunia series creators have brought to the genre.
The Atelier series may have the current crown of ‘best Alchemist’ game at the moment, but with the new features of this contender from an established developer, it may have serious competition.
In Arc of Alchemist, you will be able to play as 7 different characters and explore a vibrant looking desert, with an art style that looks as though it was ripped straight from a hand drawn painting that even Vanillaware would be proud of.
Find four Orbs to rule them all, and combining those orbs will lead to different results. Experimentation will be key to success.
Build a base and customize a small army to conquer the lands, swapping orbs to find the best results as you go pertaining to the details of the next mission.
And of course, find treasures, explore to find new weapons and avoid the traps that will hinder your team.
New ideas in gaming are what drive developers to excel, and with the innovative features and stunning looking artwork from Compile Heart in their new game Arc of Alchemist, we can’t wait to discover more. We have our review code for Arc of Alchemist, and we will be sharing our views when the game launches for PlayStation 4 on the 30th January 2020.
