Taking a new direction for the series, THQ Nordic and Airship Syndicate have announced a new game in the sprawling action series with Darksiders Genesis. For the first time, play in a top down view, while still engaging in the combat, puzzles, exploration and boss battles you would expect from these games.
The game is going to be released on all major platforms, as well as Google Stadia.
“Darksiders Genesis kicks off a completely fresh direction for the Darksiders franchise, including a new gameplay style, the introduction of STRIFE – the fourth and final horseman – and so much more,” said Joe Madureira, co-creator of Darksiders and CEO of Airship Syndicate. “The team at Airship is very eager to get Darksiders Genesis into the hands of fans at next week’s E3 show in Los Angeles!”
With the game being playable for attendees at E3, we can expect much more info to come out soon and will find out if the gameplay translates well to the new top-down style. As fans of the series, we are cautiously optimistic that this will be as good as its predecessors.
