December brings an exciting PS Plus lineup, an insightful interview with Mark Cerny, Gran Turismo 7 gameplay, FIA Finals, and more.
The PlayStation Plus titles for December were announced, and what a superb month it will be. For PS5 users, the star of the show will be the Challenger Edition of the PlayStation console exclusive Godfall (which is also free on the Epic Games Store for PC). Admittedly, the game didn’t review well due to the repetitive nature of the gameplay, but from a technical standpoint, it is a showcase game.
Alongside Godfall is another hidden gem. Mortal Shell has been described as a Souls-light, which should encourage players to at least give this one a go. To top it off we have Lego DC Super-Villains for a light-hearted romp through the world of DC Comics. These games are available to download from today until the start of January.
Mark Cerny, the lead system architect of the PS5, sat down for a fascinating and not too nerdy interview to explain how the development of the PS5 happened. During the interview, he mentions how game developers shaped how the console should be focussed on some aspects of the internal hardware, and that these meetings were, at times, quite fractious. Even if you don’t fully understand the technical side, the interview is easy to listen to and a fascinating insight into how consoles are developed.
Another week, another Gran Turismo 7 trailer; This time it was a gameplay video in cockpit view around the classic fictional track, Deep Forest Raceway. Are the visuals impressive or does it feel like the game is being held back by still having to accommodate the PS4 hardware? You can decide by watching the video below.
Continuing with the GT Theme, the FIA GT World Finals: Nation Cup Championship recently reached its conclusion, and viewers can see the results and watch the races in the video below.
One of the biggest criticisms PS5 users have had regarding the UI of the PS5 is the ability to find and engage with friends and parties. If only there was an official video guide from PlayStation to help you and your friends find out exactly what you can and can’t do. Well, finally (and some would say a year too late), PlayStation support has produced a handy how-to guide. Direct your PS5 friends to this video so there is no more confusion as to what icon it is they are supposed to press to find and join you.
Finally, two games of note released recently. Indie developed PlayStation Exclusive, Solar Ash, and Fishlabs’ superb sci-fi shooter, and a favourite amongst the writers here at Total Gaming Addicts, Chorus, which we gave a fantastic 9/10 in our review. Check out the launch trailers below.
