Bayonetta 3 Returns This Autumn – Check Out This Stunning Trailer
Platinum Games has a mixed history. For every good game they release, they seem to release another that’s a stinker. The recently released Babylon’s Fall only achieved a Metacritic score of 41 out of 100, whereas Nier Automata launched to universal critical acclaim. Then there was the cancellation of the Xbox exclusive Scalebound late into its development which was another recent stinker, but compare that to previous success of Bayonetta 2, which was nominated and crowned by some as Game of the Year back in 2014. Basically, Platinum Games has a somewhat chequered history.
With the welcome news that one of their marquee series, Bayonetta 3, is due to release on the 28th October, 2022, it’s hopefully time for Platinum games to get back on track.
The new trailer showcases the stylish hack and slash action the series is famed and loved for, but there is also going to be a new playable character, Viola, fighting alongside Bayonetta.
A fresh-faced witch joins the coven
Meet Viola – a new playable character in Bayonetta 3! This feisty witch wields a sword and is joined in battle by her capricious feline companion Cheshire.
Bayonetta, the enchanting witch who’s dressed to kill with her hand-and-foot guns, dominates angel and demon alike with action that is, to put it simply, beautiful. The latest trailer for Bayonetta 3, the newest entry in the series, was revealed during the Nintendo Direct on September 24.
Mysterious life forms appearing to be neither angel nor demon attack amid the ravaged streets of the Shibuya area of Tokyo, where Bayonetta then makes a graceful appearance. Why is she in Tokyo? And how far-reaching is the invasion of this new enemy?
See new gameplay elements like Demon Masquerade, where Bayonetta fuses with an Infernal Demon to wield even more formidable magic power, and Demon Slave, which lets Bayonetta control Infernal Demons at will to obliterate enemies.
