“Futuristic, visionary, but still so conceivable” – The new all-electric, digital-only sports car from Porsche.
“You see, Gran Turismo is the dream playground for our designers”, said Porsche Director for Exterior Design, Peter Varga, during a recently revealed 13 minute presentation video, alongside the Porsche Global Vice President of Marketing, Robert Ader.
During the excellent presentation, the two discuss the concept behind the new car, its features, the fun they had designing it and how they are looking forward to players getting behind the wheel of the very first car Porsche has designed for a game.
As well as a sneak look at more GT7 gameplay showing the Porsche at Deep Forest Raceway and the Nurburgring, there are interviews with guests, Jimmy Broadbent (YouTube Sim-racer and now IRL driver, too), and the head of the Polyphony Digital (and real world endurance racer), Kazunori Yamauchi.
In a separate trailer, we also have a specific in-game look at the new car in action at various locations within the upcoming game.
It speaks volumes when we see the commitment and time a real-world company has put into designing a near-to-the-future car for the upcoming PlayStation Exclusive, and I hope driving the all-electric sports car will be as exciting as the developers and designers are telling us it will be.
Gran Turismo 7 arrives on the 4th March 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Keep checking back in with Total Gaming Addicts as we’ll bring you more news and views in the run-up to the game’s worldwide release.
