Nintendo Switch and PC owners rejoice! Supergiant Games have released the announcement trailer of their new game, a roguelike hack and slash adventure, named after the titular protagonist, Hades.
Being Hades, the god of the underworld, has never looked like being so much fun. The Playstation giant, Kratos, of the God of War franchise, may have competition for his crown of King of Olympus.
Hades on the Switch is a port of the Windows PC game, first released into early access in December 2018. The Switch release coincides with the game exiting early access, and players will be able to transfer their save game progress across both versions with cross-save.
Supergiant says, “Hades is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you defy the god of the dead as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld of Greek myth,” Supergiant says.
“It combines the best aspects of our previous games, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.
“It’s never the same experience twice: Each time you play, you’ll combine the divine might of various Olympian gods with your own, brave nefarious new challenges, and unravel more of the story featuring our award-winning art, audio, and narrative.”
With decent hack-and-slash exclusives for the Switch being few and far between, this should be one title any Switch owners would welcome to their library of games.
Hades will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch and gets a 1.0 release on Windows PC this Autumn.
