If you aren’t aware, CES is the global stage where all the manufacturing behemoths come to display their latest innovations and high-end technological developments. It takes something special to stand out in amongst all this creativity, and ASUS ROG has managed this feat with no less than three new monitors that they have displayed.
Until recently, if you wanted a decent 4k monitor, especially one with decent HDR performance, you had to settle for a 60Hz refresh rate, which for competitive gamers and enthusiasts is simply not good enough.
The ROG Swift PG32UQX packs a 32″ display between its tiny bezels, but this is no ordinary screen. Not only is this a 4k HDR monitor, but it also supports variable refresh rates up to 144Hz and 10-bit colour support across the whole range.
VESA DisplayHDR 1400-certified, it has a full-array local dimming backlight to take full advantage of the incredible brightness. G-SYNC ULTIMATE certification assures excellent colour reproduction and smooth visuals no matter how your frame rate varies.
32″ display not big enough for you? Well, ROG have you covered. This 43″ monster might be just what you are looking for. Like its 32″ sibling, the Swift PG43UQ also has a 4k display, running at 144Hz with HDR.
VESA DisplayHDR 1000-Certified, it doesn’t have quite the brightness of the smaller monitor, but 1000 nits of luminance is nothing to be scoffed at, and if that’s the trade-off to have a 4K, HDR, 144Hz monitor of this size, it’s one we’re happy to make!
Rounding off the package is support for VESA Adaptive-Sync to synchronise the refresh rate with compatible monitors, ensuring tear-free, super-smooth gameplay without the drawbacks associated with Vsync.
The name alone should give away the USP for this monitor. Yes, ROG has achieved the unimaginable with the blistering frame rates of the Swift 360Hz monitor.
Not content with settling on their laurels after introducing the worlds first 300Hz laptop screen, they have brought out the frankly insane 360Hz Swift. Aimed squarely at esports pros, competitive gamers and wannabe superstars for whom high frame rates are king, ROG have created arguably the most desirable monitor for the competitive gaming market.
With eSports prize pools now reaching into the millions, competitors will take any advantage they can get. When victory or defeat can be separated by mere milliseconds, the advantage this monitor can give is obvious.
Packaged within a modest 24″ of screen real estate favoured by the pro’s, the Swift 360Hz bears the design philosophy of ROG’s current range of high-end gaming monitors. Expect clean, angular lines, and a beautiful etched design on the rear, along with an RGB ROG logo and under-stand lighting. It’s aggressively styled, and we love it!
