Battle the Gods in exciting new ARPG, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars
Developer ACME Gamestudio, formed in 2016 in Taiwan, has been hard at work producing what looks to be an exciting new adventure for Hilda, the heroine of their game. Inspired by Greek and Roman mythology, and with a self-proclaimed Soulslike experience, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is shaping up to be a worthy entry into the hugely popular ARPG genre.
The new trailer reveals grand vistas, epic fights with beasts, bosses and titans alike, alongside what looks to be an intriguing tale of battling with the ancient gods, where the decisions you make within the game will affect the story.
The dynamic combat system allows you to mix and match your weapons, which should help keep combat feeling fresh whatever your playstyle, and though soulslike in nature, ACME describes Asterigos’ gameplay as having “a harmonious difficulty and exploration balance.” Indeed, combat looks fast-paced and stylish, which should make for some exciting gameplay.
Built around a hub world with numerous dungeons to explore and a wide variety of enemies and bosses to defeat, Asterigos looks to use a semi-open world rather than a free-roaming expanse of featureless terrain. Graphically, Asterigos looks distinctive, using an almost cartoony style that could be described as melding the bright and colourful world of Immortals: Fenyx Rising with the darker, brooding atmosphere of something like Elden Ring.
